Random thought: Guys and Twilight

November 23, 2009

I had this thought after hearing a guy on the street the other day, asked by his mate what he thinks of ‘this whole Twilight thing’. The guy answered very abruptly, ‘I wouldn’t know. I’ve never seen it’.

The first thing that came to mind was, any guy who says they have never seen Twilight is either a liar or has never had a girlfriend since the movie came out. Read the rest of this entry »

How to: Replace a PS3 hard drive

June 16, 2009

One of my favourite features of the Playstation 3, being able to easily replace and upgrade the hdd! Not only does it not void your warranty, but Sony themselves advertise this fact. With our game collections always growing and more and more download content appearing, it’s likely that most people will be starting to run out of hdd space soon. Here’s a quick and easy guide that will give you a huge upgrade on hard drive size for a very cheap price!

A blast from the past: Powered by tech of the present

May 27, 2009

So the Media Centre/Gaming PC has been built and it’s all up and running with the TV, surround system and new entertainment unit, so all that’s left to do is finish setting up all the games and media and sit back and enjoy! I’ve started by playing some old N64 games… in HD on a 50″ Plasma!

May 10, 2009

So my partner and I went out to do some quick grocery shopping on our day off last week.

While walking through the supermarket we get talking about how we’ve held off on watching Twilight for so long, not wanting to buy into the whole franchise. Anyway, we decide on finally grabbing it (on blu-ray) and head off to do so.

Five minutes, five blu-rays and $130 later we’re on our way home.

Around the house: New AV set-up

May 10, 2009

So we finished building the previously mentioned work in progress, Media Centre PC and let me tell you – it is awesome! Fast, cool, quiet and easy to use!

I’ve used PC’s on big screen LCD’s before, but on our 50″ plasma, the resolution and overall picture quality is amazing! None of the colour gradient or resizing problems I’ve seen in the past. Either plasmas are THAT much better or the Nvidia video drivers have improved a lot in the last couple years. Movies looked hot, I can’t wait to try some games!
